The Web division of a major NYC media company is looking for contractors with 2-5 years experience in building java applications for high volume websites. This project requires a 4-6 month commitment to start ASAP. Serious candidates must have a strong understanding of J2EE technologies and significant experience with dynamic scripting languages and Rich Internet Applications.
Required Qualifications
• Solid knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
• Expert working knowledge of JSP, Servlets, Custom Tags, JDBC, XML/XSL, SiteMesh
• Extensive knowledge of Java EE frameworks including Spring, Hibernate
• Experience working with Application Servers; WebSphere, Resin, Tomcat.
• Solid SQL database experience and ORM technologies such as Hibernate.
• Experience with Dynamic Scripting languages; PHP, Perl, Groovy, Python
• Working knowledge of Java Web Service libraries; Axis, Xfire, SOAP UDDI
• Expertise in advanced HTTP, HTML, XML, RSS, JavaScript & Ajax concepts
• Experience integrating Content Management Systems
• Working knowledge in Eclipse, Subversion, Maven, JUnit
• Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field. Will consider equivalent software development experience
Must be available to work on-site, no telecommuters.
US or Canadian citizen, US permanent resident, or H1-b visa holder. No sponsorship available.
